Article I. Tri - M
The name of this Organization/Club shall be the Tri-M Music Honors Society.
Article II. Purpose
The Tri-M Music Honors Society, serving Northern Burlington, is committed to motivating outstanding music students. The organization seeks to accomplish its mission by recognizing dedicated musicians for their academic and musical achievements, by rewarding them for their accomplishments and service activities, and by inspiring other students to excel at music and leadership.

The rules contained in the bylaws, revised, shall govern the organization in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the bylaws or the special rules of order of the organization.
Article VIII. Amendments
These bylaws may be amended by a vote of two-thirds of the members of the organization present at any regular meeting or at a special meeting called for that purpose. The membership shall be notified of adopted bylaw amendments by the most feasible means.

Article III. Membership
- Members:
- Eligibility: To be eligible each member must:
- Must be entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior year to be eligible.
- Perform at Spring Recital
- Be enrolled at Northern Burlington County Regional High School.
- Have an 93 average in their music class.
- Be in SYMPHONIC BAND, WIND ENSEMBLE, CHORALE, WOMEN'S CHORALE or AP MUSIC THEORY.
- Be in an after school activity related to music in the year joined.
- Eligibility: To be eligible each member must:
- Privileges and Responsibilities of Membership:
- Voting: Each member is entitled to one vote.
- Privileges: Each member shall be entitled to all services of the organization.
- Participation: Each member shall be entitled to participate in all organizational events.
- Responsibilities: Each member must:
- Maintain at least an 93 average in each music class.
- Attend all meetings, unless in the case of a doctor's appointment or other excused absence.
- Act as a role model for other Music students.
- Turn in all necessary paperwork.
Article IV. Membership Meetings
- The business meetings of the membership will be held once a month. Notification of this meeting shall be made a week prior to said meeting.
- The President of the organization may call other meetings as necessary.
- Titles:
- Tri-M shall have the following officers elected from the current membership:
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Historian
- Public Relations
- Qualifications:
- The President is elected to the organization and serve a full school year.
- The other officers must be current members of the organization.
- Duties of Officers:
- The President
- Presides at chapter meetings
- Develops an agenda for meetings
- Represents the chapter on and off school grounds
- Facilitates formation of chapter goals
- Completes annual Chapter Summary Report
- Ability to call emergency meetings
- The Vice-President
- Publicizes meetings and other activities
- Schedules guest speakers with assistance from other Chapter Officers
- Educates new members on history of Tri-M
- Shall act in the absence of the President in all capacities as listed above and shall assist in conducting the business of the organization
- The Secretary
- Records the chapter minutes
- Handles correspondence for the chapter, including thank you letters and interactions with other Tri-M chapters
- Reports chapter activities for Chapter Summary Report
- Assist President with record keeping
- The Treasurer
- Maintains membership records
- Prepares a chapter roster
- Maintains the chapter’s financial records
- The Historian
- Teaches Tri-M Loyalty Song
- Keeps record of chapter activities
- The Public Relations Officer
- Manage the Tri-M Music Honors Society’s Facebook, NBC BANDS and twitter pages/accounts.
- The President
- Terms of Office:
- Officers shall be elected annually in fall by the members at one of the regular meetings. Elections shall be by ballot and a majority of the votes cast shall elect.
- If an officer position is vacant during their the current term, the position will be filled by a nomination from the other officers.
- Each officer shall take office…(date), and serve a one-year term and may be re-elected consecutively to the same office for an additional one-year term.
- Officers shall be elected annually in fall by the members at one of the regular meetings. Elections shall be by ballot and a majority of the votes cast shall elect.
- Vacancies and Removal:
- A vacancy in the office of the President shall be filled by the Vice-President unless he or she is unable to serve, at which time the vacancy shall be filled by election of the members by a majority of votes cast. A vacancy in the office of the Vice-President shall be left vacant with the President delegating the duties of that position.
- Any officer, including the President, may be removed from office or suspended from office by a vote of two-thirds of the members at a regular meeting. Removal or suspension may be with or without cause. The person under consideration shall be given an opportunity to be heard at the meeting with sufficient notice of the proposed removal or suspension, the person under consideration shall not be counted in determining the presence of a quorum not whether the required two-thirds vote has been obtained. Upon a vote of removal or suspension of the President, the Vice-President shall preside at the meeting.
- The President, subject to the approval of the organization, shall appoint such standing, special, or ad hoc committees as may be required by the bylaws, as he or she finds necessary. Committee Chairpersons shall be appointed by and responsible to the President.
- A vacancy in a Committee Chairperson position shall be filled by appointment of the President of the organization with input from the outgoing Committee Chairperson.
